I found that grey paint is basically made from sedimentary minerals and carbonized bone or charcoal. And is often associated with death and loss, but it also gives a sense of calmness to the viewer. I believe these attributes of the color grey elevate my piece, as the inspiration is the loss of my grandmother & how her memories continue to travel with me through other objects or experiences.
